The process

Participants are provided with a separate area ensuring privacy and confidentiality. They do not need to identify themselves. Using a tablet computer, they answer a few questions, then test themselves following instructions provided by an interactive application. Only two drops of blood obtained by fingerprick are needed to screen for HIV-1/2 antibodies, hepatitis B surface antigen, hepatitis C antibodies and syphilis antibodies. Any positive test must be confirmed.
